Arete SL
The Arete SL is pretty much the same as the Arete, except we use a
slightly ‘better’ tubeset and offer you a broader range of tasty
options. Where the Arete is your more everyday steel frame, the Arete
SL is bred for racing – go fast, eat goo, get tunnel vision at 180bpm
type stuff.
Now, we realise that’s not everyone’s cup-of-tea, so we can definitely
skew the design to be more ‘trailbikey’, but the use of ultra-thin
tubes makes the Arete SL more suitable for racing and those of us with
a bit more finesse.
It’s not the lightest XC racing frame you can get, but then again it’s
not hard to build this puppy into a 22lb rocket either. If you just
can’t get past that zippy zingy zoom feeling of a kick-bum steel bike,
and you couldn’t give a rats’ proverbial if it’s a couple of hundred
grams heavier than Aluminium, this is your bike.
